About The Race

Honor Lamont Meyers, a 19-year-old who passed away by overdose by ingesting a pill laced with fentanyl in 2020. Lamont brought joy and light to those around him. Growing up in the Rosemont community in Rancho Cordova, CA, Lamont was loved and admired by his peers, teachers, and neighbors. His infectious positivity and genuine care for others made him a beacon in the community.

The 5k will be a walk/run to honor loved ones, family members, and others in the community who have lost a loved one to overdose.

The Lamont Meyers Foundation is committed to safeguarding the well-being of people by addressing drug overdose and usage. They distribute "2nd chance" naloxone kits and provide overdose prevention education to underserved communities in the Sacramento area and beyond.

WHERE: The 5k walk/run will start and end at Hagan Community Dog Park in Rancho Cordova, CA.

The event will be held rain or shine, so please plan accordingly. Please see the map details of the approximate 5k route. There will be two hydration stations, one near the t-shirt pickup and one along the route. Please note that some of the route are on the paved bike trail (American River bike trail), and some are on unpaved gravel/dirt.
